Dhoom 3 is the 3rd settlement of the popular Dhoom series film. Dhoom was first released in 2004 in which John Abraham played the negative role against super cop Jai Dixit & Ali. In the sequel Dhoom 2 released in 2006, Hrithik Roshan replaced John and the film made a great business of 150 cr.
Interestingly the total collection of Dhoom 2 was $23 million or 150 Cr INR & that is the same amount that has been invested in Dhoom 3. It has a total budget of 150 Crore.

Story- The film features two cops Jai Dixit (Abhishek bachchan) & Ali (Aaditya Chopra) & a clown thief Sahir (role played by Aamir Khan). Sahir is a clown thief who works as an artist (joker) in his fathers Drama company. Katrina Kaif is playing the role of Acrobat Dancer Aaliya & she is probably playing the role of Sahir’s girlfriend. Although the complete story of the film will be out after the release of the film however we will be having a good chase of super cop & Clown thief Aamir Khan, the first two trailers of the film suggest a great bunch of action scenes along with an astonishing acrobat dance of Katrina Kaif.

Dhoom 3 Collection-Public Poll or Survey Result
A survey about the collection of D3 that has been conducted by Dhoom3collection.com where the audience were asked to vote for the expected collection of Dhoom 3. Interestingly more than 60% bolly lovers voted for a collection of over 35 crore on its opening day. Sounds cool but that seems an enormous excitement for the film among the people.
Aamir Khan, who is playing the role of Sahir, the clown thief looks confident about his film & says-My negative character in the film will win hearts of the people.
Dhoom 3 Budget, Booking Status & Collection report Worldwide
Advance booking stats of the film seems to break the highest record set by Salman Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger. In Hyderabad 65% tickets have been sold out whereas in other metro cities the booking stats are good with 30-40% by the end of Monday 16th December.
The total budget of the film is 1.5 billion(US$23 million) making it a Bollywood film with the largest budget which includes an expensive song filmed on Katrina Kaif that has a budget of 5 crore. The film Producers are all set to make the most out of it and that’s why it will be releasing in Imax format with a Digital signature that kills piracy. (A sad new for those who were looking for the torrent options for the film to download it).
Additionally the ticket price has been hiked to 1400 Rupees for PVRcinemas. Still the booking status is creating new records. For the first show of the film, more than 50% seats have already been booked in Delhi PVR cinemas despite of the high prices. Dhoom 3 which is going to hit silver screen on 20-12-2013, It is expected to have the widest release ever in India. Film to release around 4300 screens in India including dubbed telugu and tamil versions.
Dhoom 3 Business in South India
Dhoom 3 is releasing in south India with over 850 screens. The film has been dubbed in tamil & telugu versions but it will be having a fight with regional films releasing on the same day in South Indian theatres. At Tamil box Office, First one is Biriyani which film is directed by Venkat Prabhu & Jiiva’s “Endrendrum Punnagai” is also releasing on 20th December Thalaimuraigal & Madhayanai Kootam.
Where as at Telugu box Office tamil film Prathinidhi will be releasing during the same day. However as the film is releasing with a local dubbed language which will definitely attract local audience into theatres.
Overseas Trade Report
In USA where the film has been shot (primarily in Chicago) the has got a good popularity already because of Aamir Khan’s global reach. The acrobat dance of Katrina & action scenes of Aamir Khan in the film trailers has already created sensation among the audience.
At Hollywood Box office, the conditions doesn’t seems to be favourable as a total of 5 hollywood films are releasing on 20th December. It is a relief that all the hollywood films are not having a good anxiousness among people. D3 can have a good fight if the movie content comes out as of good quality. As per an statement issues by a website- Dhoom 3 collection in USA will be higher than any Indian film.
Internationally the film is going to take a head on fight with hollywood film as it is releasing with over 700 screens in overseas. A Big News is coming that the film will release in Pakistan as well (the advance booking has already begun). It is expected that the film will gross a great market from Gulf countries as the film has also been dubbed in Arabic. Apart of that Aamir has got a good reach in muslim countries giving an edge to the total income of the film.
